OS X Flashback Virus Checker

How to check your Apple OS X computer for the flashback virus:

1) Go to the Apple Menu and run Software Updates on your computer.  Install all Apple software updates until it tells you that your software is up to date.  You might have to run Software Updates several times. 

2) Check your computer for the Flashback virus by downloading the Norton Flashback Detection and Removal Tool.  Run the program.

3) Make sure your laptop has current antivirus definitions installed.  If you don't know how to do this, see Mr. Wong in room 236.

4)  In Safari, disable Java.  Go to Preferences/Security/Uncheck Enable Java.
